for the next generation of MCH measures...

The MCH Evidence Center supports Title V MCH programs in developing evidence-based/informed strategies that advance the expanded MCH Block Grant measures. We start with the science to ensure the evidence base is accessible for use in developing new or strengthening existing programs at the state/jurisdiction, or community/local level. We provide a planning process to focus on what the data shows about population needs and then zoom out to discover root causes and barriers to the work that needs to be accomplished. Finally, we move from ideas to implementation with tools and technical assistance to ensure that programs have impact within the realities of Title V programs and lead to health equity for all people.

New Evidence Resources

In light of the new MCH Block Grant National Performance Measures (NPMs) and Standardized Measures (SMs), we have developed new What Works Evidence Accelerators. These resources include overviews of each topic, data sources and highlighted national statistics, approaches to each measure as seen through a health equity and social determinants of health lens, specific ways that Title V can address each measure, and links to over 300 new evidence-based/informed strategies from MCHbest database that you can use to jump start your work on the new topic areas. Each strategy includes sample ESMs for you to adopt or adapt. Download our NEW Strategy Planning Tool to use with the evidence to develop strong ESMs. Click the links below to get started!
