Choose-and-Use Guides
MCH Evidence staff have developed easy ways to access complex resources based on evidence-based/informed resources, how to apply these strategies with fidelity, and what other Title V agencies are doing to accomplish these goals.
Access these "chooce-and-use" guides to quickly find resouces that you can start using immediately:
- MCHbest database: the Bank of Evidence-linked Strategies and Tools. The database aggregates sample evidence-based/informed ("evidence-linked") strategies that can be used as-is or adapted to develop Evidence-based or informed Strategy Measures (ESMs) for each of the MCH National Performance Measures (NPMs). It's as easy as Ready, Set, Go. Read the following guidance and then access the strategies below.
- Established Evidence database. Search the peer-reviewed research articles that were reviewed in developing the evidence reports. Links are provided to electronic access. Not all articles are available freely online.
- Emerging Evidence search strings. New studies are continually being published. Use these links to generate automated searches of the most current research literature using the same search parameters that the project uses to identify articles for evidence reports. These links provide you with the latest citations from PubMed, the National Library of Medicine's premier database of biomedical literature. Articles are listed chronologically with the most recently added items first and are continually updated as new research citations are added to PubMed. All entries are from English-language journals and from the last three years from date of searching. All searches open in new windows.
- State ESM database. Find Evidence-based/informed Strategy Measures (ESMs) that are currently in use by states and jurisdictions as well as those that have been completed. You can search by key word (e.g., WIC, hospital), NPM, or state/jurisdiction.
